As per update by other Sep version 12 is for 64 bit OS

It's mean that if we are using 64 bit systems and Sep version is of 11.0 then we cant be update any policy on that systems.?

That is correct.. Application and device Control is not compatible on SEP 11.x 64 bit Clients.

Any solution on same, because we can't be able to upgrade with version 12.1

  • 10.  RE: Application and Device Controls

    Posted Nov 11, 2011 03:24 PM

    Well..that's a MAJOR Enhancement in SEP 12.1.

SEP 11.x does not support App & Dev Control on 64 bit clients and there is no plan in coming SEP 11.x versions as well.

    How to resolve it??

  • 12.  RE: Application and Device Controls

Use GPO or SNAC. Nothing else can be done using SEP 11.x

    Snac require a different license?

  • 14.  RE: Application and Device Controls

    Posted Nov 11, 2011 04:05 PM

That's correct..check with your Symantec Sales team to see if you are lcensed with SNAC..But again with Snac you will just block it..It will not give you controls like App & Dev Control.

    Install SEP 12.1

Symantec has fixed it in SEP 12.1 so don't expect a Workaround in SEP 11.x
