    Hi,

I have had several users who are seeing the "an application has changed since the last time you used it." message fairly often. I am trying to follow this article based on previous forum questions:

    https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH123331.html

However I do not see the "clients page" and if I click on computers where I have a list of PCs that have the product installed and then click on the policy tab I don't see Network Application Monitoring option or anywhere to add combinations for executables. Any advice would be appriciated.

    Version: 12.1.671.4971

This is due to Network Application Monitoring being enabled:

This is a known issue in this version so you need to upgrade:

Endpoint Protection 12.1 SBE enables Network Application Monitoring without ability to modify feature settings.

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH167268

Workaround: This issue only affects the pre created groups (My Company; Laptops and Desktops; Servers) and does not affect user-created groups. If migration is not possible at this time, move affected clients to user-created groups.

Thanks Brian. I have Version: 12.1.671.4971. I am not familiar with Symantecs release structure am I not at 12.1 SBE?

Does upgrading require an uninstall and upgrade of SEPM and client software?

I have created a new group and added one client. Where are the settings to ignore an application such as MS outlook?

The version you're on is the first version.

All versions numbers can be found here:

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/what-are-symantec-endpoint-protection-sep-versions-released-officially

Upgrading does not require uninstalling. You can simply upgrade right over the old version.

There is no setting in SBE. What you did by creating the new group is the workaround. It should take affect automatically and once the client gets the new policy they should not see the message.

One more question Brian. Will upgrading SEPM be enough of a fix or will each client machine also need to be updated? Thank you for your help and advice. Much appreciated.

The article isn't clear on whether or not exactly but it sounds like this is a "policy" change so upgrading the SEPM only should fix it.
