This issue has been solved. See solution.

Netbackup 7.5.0.5

I'm trying to do a MS sql backup with the VMware method. Client is behind a firewall.

I only opened the following ports:

Master/media --> Client bpcd (13782)
Master/media <-- Client vnetd (13724)

regular backups and ms sql backups with the netbackup agent are working fine.

Application state capture fails with a status 47 (host is unreachable).

Looking in the ncfnbcs log file I see the following error:
[Error] V-366-3 Unable to connect to vnetd service nbcs on host 'clientname', error 25

Should I also open the port 13724 to the client for doing Application state capture?

The manual is not talking about this...

thanks, Peter

vnetd is what it says is the issue so i would go with opening that port

Or try 1556 (pbx) to see if that does it for you using the default first used port these days
