In testing recently released APSB12-01 - I see it prompts users during the reader install to reboot (screenshot).

Is there any way to avoid this prompt?  It happens whether or not user has adobe reader opened... we have a reboot time set for at night so I'd like to suppress this if at all possible.

I have a ticket in but haven't had any luck there yet.

We are running 7.1 SP2 - latest agents, etc.

This looks like a fault in Symantec's packaging of this update.  I'll flag this thread for support.

    Hi Sally5432,

I installed the same update on my end and this message does not appear for me. The exit code for this update is "0".

Could you please specify additional details (what type of OS, initial version of Acrobat reader you are trying to patch)?

    Thanks!

    Windows 7 Ent Sp1

Adobe reader was fully patched before the update came out (10.1.1 I think?).

According to installlog.csv my exit code is 3010

Just to exclude the obvious, are you sure that Acrobat wasn't open?  Maybe in the background?

did you try over an existing MUI version, instead of only... We all know that Symantec test only ENglish version...

Let me know if your case gets anywhere. I keep asking support for an update (if they're even working on it), and my emails go unanswered.

This issue is currently being researched by the Patch Dev Team and will be resolved in a future release of Patch.

This issue and a workaround is outlined on KM: TECH180601

Did the new release, published Feb 3, resolve it?

Support said it would be addressed in the Feb 15th release.  I'll report back if I test it as working.

Good news, this seems to have been corrected with last nights import (in my limited testing).  The command line was changed to following for anyone interested.

    AdbeRdr1012_en_US.exe /sAll /rs /rps /msi ALLUSERS=1 EULA_ACCEPT=YES DISABLE_ARM_SERVICE_INSTALL=1
