When browsing to the files directly by opening the download URL in IE8 from the SMP server I get an HTTP 404 Not Found error.

Is it possible that the PM Import files have the wrong path to the download files?

I used the Altiris Log Viewer on the SMP server and found these are the files that the server is trying to download and their destinations (see below). Only empty folders within the APSB13-15 folder are created but no files are actually being downloaded.

If I change the URL so that the part before adobe.com is ftp://ftp. I can download the files manually. Simply copying them to their destination folders is not enough. So maybe the files have not yet replicated to their "ardownload" server or the PM Import is not configured to pull from the right place. Either way, I would like to deploy this patch ASAP without having to create a custom Software Resource/Managed Software Delivery.

I managed to download these files using Download URLs from your logs and using Patch Management Solution with imported Patch Data 7.1.424.

In case if this issue is still reproducible on your environment and files cannot be downloaded via direct download URL, then it may be caused by network problems

I am still having the problem. The PM Import ran and finished after you posted your reply so I should have the latest version. On the Altiris Log Viewer I am still not seeing any errors during the download. The empty folders with the GUID of each package are still being created but no MSP files are downloaded. The patch staging window in the PRC shows that the download of the 7 files failed. Attempting to "recreate packages" yields the same result even after disabling the bulletin in the PRC listing. I did not have any problems downloading APSB13-14 (Flash Player).

You are right, I can actually download the files myself using the URLs listed in the Log Viewer without altering the links. I did not try this on my workstation before posting after I saw it failed on the server but I figured it the server can download patches it should be able to download them through the browser, as test.

Anyways, it seems to be a problem on my SMP server or internal network after all. I will keep plucking away. Once I (hopefully) find a solution I will post here.

When I looked at the log viewer I was filtering for "APSB13-15" so I missed the "download failed" errors which did not include that string. The problem appears to be with proxy authentication.

My problem has been resolved. The address of the download server for Acrobat, ardownload.adobe.com, was being blocked by our firewall. I can now successfully download the APSB13-15 updates.

We have also a strange issue with APSB13-15 : it looks to be superseeded by APSB13-14 (updates for Flash released the same day).

We use the Disabel all superseeded option which works great with patches like Java ones. But it looks like the use of the same ID (APSB13) is doing the mess.

Could you please clarify why it looks that APSB13-15 is superseded by APSB13-14?

APSB13-15 includes updates for Adobe Reader and Acrobat
APSB13-14 includes updates for Adobe Flash Player

So APSB13-15 should not be superseded by APSB13-14 and vice versa.
