I have been waiting for this zero day Flash patch, so I tried pushing it out to test computers as soon as I got in today while working on other things.  The download of the bulletin failed on like step 9/9 or something (I was multitasking working on other things).

Now that I'm done working on other things, I'm trying to get the update to download.  It's choking on http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/win/download/20.0/AdobeAIRInstaller.exe - which I can click on and download just fine.  I noticed that on the server APSB16-01 folder existed (from earlier I presume), so I deleted that and tried the 'distribute bulletin' again, but it keeps choking on downloading the Air Installer.

I can download other patches ok.  I put bypasses in our web filter (that we never needed before), to make sure that wasn't getting in the way.  No change.

I tried rebooting the server to see if there was some stuck job from the previous patch download somewhere, no change.  Almost no one is at work today, it's not a bandwidth issue.

I'd really like to get this patch out.  Anyone have ideas of what else to try?  Or anyone else having issues downloading the patch?

The APSB16-01 folder was recreated on server and has 1 folder in (guid 997...)  but it's empty

In the log viewer I see

    Download failed for 'http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/win/download/20.0/AdobeAIRInstaller.exe'

    Finished download [from:'http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/win/download/20.0/AdobeAIRInstaller.exe' to:'F:\Patches\APSB16-01\{99700143-4aad-49b5-ad00-fc81618c554a}\AdobeAIRInstaller.exe' task:Download Software Update Package time:00:06:02.6656315]

I just downloaded it with no issues. I'm on 7.6 HF4 at this time. Looks like the policy was created successfully, too, as I refresh the page.

One thing to note. Last month I had a couple of patches (can't recall which ones now) that experienced the same thing that you detailed. They eventually downloaded after an hour or so or sporadic retries.

thanks for the repliy @tloenhorst.  I've had issues before as well but of course this time it's the zero day i was hoping to get out today.  I'll have to get a ticket in as well.

We just rolled it out. No issues in initial testing before going out to the general population. Most machines did not require a reboot, it seems.

tloenhorst, are you rolling out Adobe Air too?

http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/win/download/20.0/AdobeAirInstaller.exe is where CMS is trying to download.  My workstation downloads a 130KB file which doesn't appear to be valid (didn't realize that before, that the download finished but wouldn't open).  Maybe that's what's choking CMS on me too.

Curious, do you get mandatory reboots every so often deploying Flash Player Patches? I never do.

I downloaded the new bulletin today, I only received Flash ActiveX 20.0.0.267, and Flash Player AX/Plug-in 18.0.0.324. I did not get Plug-in 20.0.0.267. Still wondering why Macromedia is still patching 18.x when they are up to 20.x.

Not that I recall. This one did not need or prompt a restart.
