Archive explorer in OWA 2007 and IWA

Robert Primozic's picture

Is there something new about that issue? I mean that regardless of loging to OWA2007, Archive Explorer allways use IWA (and use credentials of logged user. This can be anoying when computer is in LAN and domain logged with domain user...) so happens that logged user can not acces his own archive trough AE.
Any special configuration to bypass this or thing is as it is (this is a feature not a bug as per Microsoft... :))

Will use the credentials of the domain user, not the OWA user

If you are logged into the computer as one domain user and after that logged into OWA as a different user, with IWA enabled in the Enterprise Vault Web Application,  the credentials passed will be the credentials of the logged user in the computer, no the OWA credentials. This will result in re-asking the user for credentials.

Any workaround (like removing the EV URLs from the Local Intranet security configuration in IE) seems to end in the same problem as user will be asked for credentials when the users access the archived messages from Outlook.

Is it resolved?. Please do not forget to marked it as solved!

I'm confused by the question ...

Say I'm logged in to a workstation as somedomain\me, I open open OWA, I get prompted with the forms based authentication screen.  OWA all works fine.  I click on the Archive Explorer link in the wunderbar.  What happens then?

Problem is Area PCs

Hey Rob,
I have this issue and can explain the question:
We use thin clients, which log on to the domain with a group account, say domainx\area1
Bob comes along and opens IE and logs on to OWA as domainx\Bob
He clicks on Archive Explorer, which either tells him the archive does not exist (Bad!)  or shows him the archive for domainx\area1 (Worse!)

I would actually even be happy with a prompt to enter the user name and password again - at least then Bob can access his archive...

Hmm..  I've seen that once or twice, but never gotten to the bottom of it.  My only suggestion would be to contact Symantec Support directly, and work through it with them.

Sorry,
