Archiving Autodesk .dwg files with associated xrefs

Created: 15 Oct 2012 • Updated: 15 Nov 2012 | 2 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.

When a folder containing drawings  is Archived, or even just a file ( .dwg) will the linked files (xrefs) also be recalled if the end-user tries to open the original drawing?

It would also be useful to know if the same applies to other file types e.g. Adobe InDesign (.indd) files.

(xref files are also saved as .dwg files)

Hi,

This has nothing to do with Enterprise Vault as per say, but in short yes they will be recalled.

Take a read of this:
