Hope this question makes sense...

I have added a new journal mailbox target to EV. I would like set this mailbox so that items in this mailbox are only pulled into EV every 48 hours.

Is that possible?

Hi Andrew,

You could set a windows task to start and stop the task based on a schedule.  That would be about the only way I could think of.

Create two bat files like so:

"c:\program files\enterprise vault\EVService.exe" start SERVER1 "Exchange Journaling Task for Server1"

and another to stop

"c:\program files\enterprise vault\EVService.exe" stop SERVER1 "Exchange Journaling Task for Server1"

Regards,

Tony

Random question, but why would you only want to ingest every 48 hours on a Journal activity?

Thanks,

To follow on from what GPKGuy says...  I've been at customers that receive over 2m million messages per day.. having those backup for 2 days in a journal mailbox just wouldn't work.

Is the journal target in this case a remote location ?

Thanks Tony - that worked like a champ.

This particular task is assigned to just one mailbox that captures messages regarding posts on a company social media site. We have moderators who may need to respond to inquiry's, so they asked is we could delay the ingestion of items in the mailbox so they could have time to respond. The mailbox does not receive a lot of messages which is why we can let items sit for a while....
