Archiving suspended in Evault?
Hi to all forum members
We are using Enterprise Vault version 8.0.2.1693 on Server 2003.
We are having an issue with archiving. We have set up a policy and a provisioning group and added 3 members to this group once PST migration had completed and mailboxes enabled. We set the retention for "forever" and the archiving is for anything older than 3 months and not younger than 2 weeks.
The strange thing is that 1 of the users added (myself) the archiving is working fine, dont have any problems. For the other user, when right clicking on their mailbox within Outlook 2003 and choosing properties, then going to the Evault tab, it shows as "suspend Enterprise Vault archiving for this mailbox" with this option greyed out and no way to change it. I have checked and rechecked the properties of the policy, the provisioning group and the user properties within Enterprise Vault and can see nothing wrong.
We both work in Internal Systems and our permission levels are the same. Both machines are identical running WinXP.
RPC mail is not enabled and it set for the Lan connection and to use TCP/IP on fast networks.
Anyone have any ideas why 1 user has this suspended?
Infact now 2 users from the 3 have the archiving suspended.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks

do you have the "overall lock" set in the mailbox archiving policy?
1. In the Enterprise Vault Administration Console expand the Policies>Exchange>Mailbox containers.
2. Open the Properties of the Mailbox Archiving Policy and go to the Archiving Actions tab.
3. Uncheck the Force users to use policy and target settings for mailbox archiving
Click Apply to save the changes and OK to exit the Properties window.
4. Run a synchronization of the Mailbox Archiving Task to complete the change

Hi AndrewB
Thanks for the reply. I followed your instructions, and its now worked, although the sync didnt work at first, but once we rebooted the exchange server and resynched and the clients restarted their outlook it was ok and we could check/uncheck the box for archiving.
Many thanks for your help and quick response.
