Is there any documentation on installing Asset Management 7 on its own server? I have been playing with it in a lab before going live in production and I am looking for some guidance. Do I have to install a second notification server with some hierarchy then install Asset Management on the second NS server or is there some other way to do this. I tried installing it like workflow which calls for you to install the workflow solution on the NS then install the app on a different server - made sense and worked well. That's not the case with Asset Management; so I uninstalled it from the NS server and installed it on another server pointing it back to the shared CMDB database. It installed, and I can add something like a location and see it from both the Asset Management console and the NS console. Unfortunately I get a server error when I try to view something like Manage Workflow Servers. It makes sense why i can't view the workflow servers since the Asset Managment install never asked for the NS server name. Anyway to get back to my original question, is there anything or anyone out there that can assist?

IMHO the Asset Management 7 is just an add-on on top of a NS server. So Asset has to be installed on NS server. But workflow is a separated platform which can co-locate with a NS server or sit as a stand-alone which is recommended for performance.

You can install Asset on a second NS and make it behaving as a reporting server where the main NS server forwarding its data to this Asset server.

Really, it depends on the scale of your organization and the computing power of your servers.

I appreciate the response. I will start testing that scenario in my lab.
