Assistance with SQL removal of missing Vault Store Days
Hi
My client accidently deleted some of the journal vault store folders. Unfortunately there was no backups in place on these folders. The journal index is now in a rebuilding state but complains of the missing folders. I need to remove all the reference in the SQL DB to these missing folders so that the rebuilding of the journal index can complete successfully.
What is the best way to do this?
I have logged a case with Symantec support to assist in removing these SQL references but was informed that due to it being the customers mistake they cannot assist me.
Is this true? Will Symantec not assist in this case
Any help will be appreciated on how to delete the missing days from SQL (see image below)
The customer is running EV 8.0 SP2 and MSSQL 2005
The folder that are missing is from Aug 27 - Aug 30

Hi Johan, With Enterprise
Hi Johan,
With Enterprise Vault v8 SP3 you can use EVSVR to delete missing Database Entries and Indexes. I would suggest you wait till next week and upgrade to v8 SP3 then use the tools designed just for your issue.

Yep, it's better to use
Yep, it's better to use proper tools rather than hacking SQL, which is why Support said what they did. The main thing here is why there isn't a backup of the accidentally deleted data in place....

EV 8.0 SP3
Hi Wayne
I was told that SP3 will allow me to do this. Is there anything in the meantime that I can do.

Johan, I see in the
Johan,
I see in the screenshot that you are storing these indexes on a compressed volume. Understanding that Index files are updated and modified a lot, I would comment that storing these on a compressed volume may have an impact on performance, as the files have to be un-compressed/compressed multiple times. I can't find anything at present to advise via a white paper, but I would have thought you would be better off not using NTFS compression.
