    Dear Spport staff or readers,

Could you let me ask you giving help to solve my issue when I attemped to upgrade Endpoint from v11. to v12?

My symptom is that the installer of SEP v12 was not finished normally after using the CleanWip and I got message from CleanWinp, which is as below,

    TIME:INFO  [2/22]:Removing registry key

    TIME:WARN Could not delete 03:\DEFAULT\Software\Symantec Endpoint Protection\,Exception:RegSetKeySecurity failed. Erro code:87 (0x57)

    TIME:WARN Could not delete 03:5-1-5-18\Software\Symantec Endpoint Protection\,Exception:RegSetKeySecurity failed. Erro code:87 (0x57)

And then I had performed Installation task for SEP v12 and the task had not been finished normally.

I am not sure why the installation had not been finished normally. I checked the registry of the windows platform although It ssems normal.

Since the registry enrty is just only the items regarding the installer of SEP v12. No registry itme of previous version, v11 was not in the registry of the platform.

Would you let me know how to recovery my environment and any method to finish the installation task of SEP v12?

    My environment information,

    WindowsServer 2003R2, 32bit edition

Symantec Endpoint protection v12, v12 was removed

If you need further information to investigate this issue, please contact me. I will proved it asap.

    Thnak you for kindness.

Coudl you let me correct my environment information as follows?

    >Symantec Endpoint protection v12, v12 was removed

Symantec Endpoint protection v12, v11 was removed reviously.

And I suppose it is necessary to install the certifications as follos before installing SEP v12.

VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority - G5 certification
VeriSign Class 3 Code Signing 2010 CA certification

How should I make sure these are necessary or not, also?

    Thanks.

    Hi James007,

Thank you very much for your instructon.

Since the function of AutoUpgrade in Symantec Endpoint Protection could not work normally under my environment, I removed SEP v11 and attempted to install SEP v12.

Therefore I am considering to install the certifications written in my additional comment before I will install SEP v12.

    Thank you again.

As of 12.1.5, if the required certificates are missing, Symantec Endpoint Protection installs the certificates during installation instead of prompting you to install them.

Certificate error occurs when installing or upgrading Endpoint Protection

I appreciate to introduce useful instruction for me.

I read the article and investigated the error message in the file, SepRemovalToolNative_x86.log file.

However I could not find it out in the file.

Almost of all messages in the file said there installation tasks were normail finished.

I am not sure which points I should invstigate for this issue.

Any hints are helpful for me.
