Authentication failed on connection to the server

This issue has been solved. See solution.

We have BE running on 2 different servers; version 8.6 on one and 10d on the other.  I noticed the other day that the previous admin had all the BE services using the domain administrator account as the "log on as" account.  So I created a new account, gave it Domain Admin rights, and changed all the BE services to use this account.  Everything went fine on the 8.6 box.  But on the 10d server I get this error message when trying to do a backup:

Final error: 0xe000fe29 - Authentication failed on connection to the server. Make sure that the user account has the appropriate permissions and that the password was typed correctly.
Final error category: Security Errors

I followed the link in the job log.  Of course it said to double-check the logon credentials in the BE services (I did that).  And also to set the credentials to the new account in Tools>Backup Exec Service, in BE.  Which I had not done.
But after doing all that, jobs still fail with the same error.

Any suggestions?  What am I missing here?

Thanks

hi

Just add the new account to the local administrators group on the remote server and restart the Remote agent and BE services

than try and take a backup

if giving the same error
add the account under local security policy
1 create a token object
2 log on as batch
3log on as service
4 Backup files
5 restore files

and restart the BE services on the media server and remote agent

just anthor thing make sure remote agent version is the same as of backup exec

you can check that by verfying the beremote.exe file
C:\Programe files\symantec\backupexec\beremote.exe on media server
C:\Programe files\symantec\backupexec\raws\beremote.exe  on remote server

Let me know if this resolves your issue, if yes please mark it a solution

Ok I got it working. I had

Ok I got it working.
I had not set the logon credentials to the new user account on the Remote agent and BE services on the remote server.

Also, under Network > Login Accounts, I did not have the new account that I created.
Did all that and now it's working.

Thanks

Well, turns out it is NOT

Well, turns out it is NOT working.

I did a test backup yesterday.  Worked fine.  I backed up a folder on the BE server.
Then last night the backup failed.

So I thought it must be somehow related to the backup of the remote server.  So I just did a test backup of a folder on the remote server.  That worked.
I am stumped.

Why don't the scheduled jobs work?
