This issue has been solved. See solution.

We are using NTLM and have it setup and running fine.  I also have an Authentication settings policy configured and enabled.  At the time we are only using Ignore Authentication.  I have tried switching it to Authenticate, No Enforcement so we can start tracking users.  When I do this I have issues with our MAC, Linux, and Google Chrome Browsers always asking for authentication.  is there a way to have the reporting of users and departments without forcing users to always enter their creditials?

We are a mixed house.  7000 XP, 3000 Fedora, and about 200 MAC clients.

if this is the same as you posted on another related entry please let us know the results after trying the following KB article:

It looks like a browser-related thing so I guess same can be achieved with Chrome or Safari.

Hi Kris,

As Federico has suggested, this isn't really a product problem, but an issue with browsers that aren't able to transparently authenticate using NTLM Authentication.
