    Perform one of the following:

    • In Windows 2003/XP, expand Component Services, and then expand Computers. Right-click My Computer, and clickProperties. On the Default Properties tab, on the Default Impersonation Level menu, click Identify.

It was as default, not need to change.

Try that on a couple of machines and see if it works. Then we know that this is the issue.

    Hi

In the SEPM console goto Policies and click on the AV&AS policy assigned to the group where you have issue and edit the policy ,then click on File System Autoprotect here u can notice a small lock symbol  near the check box enable file system auto protect

if that symbol is unlocked then lock all the features for that policy and see if that helps

    Dear Prakash.

We've tried your suggestion before and it still failed. We've even said to auto-restart if off for more than 5min. Clients are still reporting that AutoProtect is off.

The issue is only with xp machines and other machines are not affected, just to rule out any possible issues with AV&AS policy in the assigned group,Can you  try creating a Test group move in few XP machines, create a new AV&AS policy assign it to the test group and make sure every setting for Auto protect is locked and see if anything changes

    Hi Cons,

Log the case with symantec support & give them to analyze the issue.

May be they are fixing this issue on 12.1 RU1 MP1.

    Dear Const_zh

Please can you give more details about the solution & how GPs caused this problem. Many other people seem to have the same problem. Maybe your discovery can help some.
