    Hello,

    I'm trying to download some of the files from the internet like hotmail,gmail like etc,some of the files are showing file name and failed---viruscan failed like message.

    what could be the issue?

    Can you post a screenshot?

    Do you have the email auto-protect plugin installed in SEP and enabled?

    Are you using forefox or IE? This looks to be from the browser itself

    if the document is password protected it will show virus scan failed.

    And do you have the internet email auto-protect plugin enabled.

    Frankly, this seems more related to IE. I know when you download in IE, windows defender will scan the file. Check to see if windows defender is enabled as well.

    No password protection on the files. These are regular files that I had previously opened and cannot now.

    yes..for some file it is opening and some one it is giving an error

    Did this just start? Anything showing in the risk logs or were you infected that you know of?

    Same thing is working in other system which is having SEP but not on this.
