Automate assigning the Billing Owner

This issue has been solved. See solution.

I have discovered that about 400 of my users do not have the "Bill usage to field" populated.  I've already created a list of the users who need to have this field filled out.  Now I'm looking for a way to automate the process of populating this field.

I believe EVPM could do it, but it seems that if the mailbox is already enabled for archiving, you cannot assign the Bill usage value.  I have tried manually disabling archiving then re-enabling it (the re-enable piece I tried through both the GUI and through EVPM), but the Bill usage field remained empty.  However, I am able to open the archive through the GUI, and manually assign the Bill usage.

My test EVPM script to enable and assign the billing owner is:

DistinguishedName = /O=Legacy/OU=Exchange/cn=DN/cn=TestUser

Name = Mailboxroot
Enabled = True

BillingOwner = Domain\TestUser

The script runs without error, but as you can guess, the "Bill usage to" field remains empty.

Anyone have any ideas how I can automate the population of this field?  I'd like to avoid disabling and re-enabling the mailboxes if at all possible.

Thank you.

Try the PopulateBillingAccount registry DWORD

This could be the answer!  I'll run this tonight and will post my results.

Thank you.

Happy to report the registry key populated the billing accounts perfectly.
