  • 1.  Automate Ghost image restore from a USB drive

    Hi,

I'm trying to automate an image restore from the USB drive.  I created the USB with Ghost Boot Wizard -> Windows PE.  The USB will boot when I don't put a Ghost image in there but when I do add a Ghost image to the USB drive via the Ghost Boot Wizard, I would get an error booting up from the USB.

Can anyone help?  I'm trying to just boot off the USB drive and let it automatically Ghost the computer with an image I had already created without any user intervention.  Please let me know what switch/parameter I should use.

    Thanks,

    Jake

Put the ghost image in a folder on the USB drive and you should be fine.

As far as the Parameters, look on page 522 of the Ghost Imp Guide. A basic switch example will be:

    -clone,mode=restore,src=G:\Images\Backup.GHO,dst=1 -sure -rb

Where G: is the default USB drive letter WinPE likes to give to it.

Also upgrade yourself yo Live update 2. User files are treated differently for Winpe - they are added directly to media. In the first release they were put directly to Winpe. Intention was for user files to be small utilities but user started putting image via 'additional files' hence why we changed.
