This issue has been solved. See solution.

Is there a way to have SEP automatically re-enable (after x amount of minutes) after someone has right clicked on the tray icon and disabled it? I'm finding out the some techs forget to re-enable SEP upon leaving the client.

In the tray icon if you right

In the tray icon if you right click and click on disable in fact only network threat protection is getting disabled. You can set the time for automatically re enabling this in SEPM(Clients---->corresponding group---->policies---->location specific settings--->client user interface control ---server control--->customize---->amount of time before re enabling network threat protection)

Please don't forget to mark your thread solved with whatever answer helped you : ) Thanks & Regards Aravind

Did you assign out the

The setting above is what you need. Did you assign out the policy, and verify the policy updated on the clients? What is your heartbeat interval?  It may  be a case of the clients simply haven't picked up the policy change yet.  Also, you may need to "lock" the policy.

The heartbeat is every 10 minutes. Its been approx. 24 hrs now and it hasn't re-enabled. I did an update content from the SEP MC and a update policy from the SEP client prior to this.

It looks like it was just a coincidence that the SEP MC re-enabled. I haven't been able to get it to do so again. Looks like this might warrant a call to Symantec :-/
