  • 1.  Automatically upgrading SEP client v11 with no reboot required ?

    People,

    Since SEP client v11 is no longer supported, so I wonder how to perform automated SEP client upgrade from v11 into 12.1.6 with no reboot ?

    Because some of my production servers are still running SEP v11 - Antivirus Component only.

    This is the error that I'm getting, so I wonder if this is related to the End of life or something else ?

    Not possible. Going from 11.x to 12.1 will require a reboot, even when using AV only. 12.1 is a different architecure than 11.x and because of this a reboot is necessary.

    You'll need to schedule a reboot during your change/maintenance window.

    So the error above is that because of the out of support issue ?

    Likely, yes. 11.x defs are no longer available although it is possible they can still get defs from a 12.1 SEPM. But if they do, the defs will be unsupported and untested so beware.
