    Hi

We have 12.1.4 SEP and clients are 11.17 SEP we want to upgrade with autoupgrade feature, if we assign 32 bit package during autouprade feature to one of SEP group which also has 64-bit clients then what will happen. Does package try to installed on 64bit client and failed? And how we handle this scenario where group has both 32 bit and 64 bit clients and want to upgrade with autoupgrade.

    Thanks

    It wil fail.

You need to assign both 32 and 64 bit package and the SEP client will choose the correct one to upgrade with.

    See these threads about it:

    Hi

There is upgrade schedule option for autoupgrade feature

    from (00:00) to (23:00)

    distribute upgrades over (2) days

If I want to start immediately for some groups then How I will do

Simply deselect the option "Upgrade Schedule" - client will download the new package on the next heartbeat to manager.

You can assign both 32bit and 64bit packages - Client will recognize the correct package according to the OS version and install only the one thats appropriate. The other one will be rejected from installation.

    Yes.

Distribute upgrade over x days - This is upgrade timeframe for clients - have a look here:

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH106235

What does "upgrade schedule" option inside Add a Client Install Package used for Auto-Upgrade mean?

    Article:TECH179006  |  Created: 2012-01-16  |  Updated: 2012-07-28  |  Article URL http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH179006

If the a value in "Distribute Updates Over" is set more than 0, the updates will occur with in the time period specified over the number of days in "Distribute Updates Over". - so in your example this will be two days during the clients will take the updates.

    Some more information to auto-upgrade:

    Hi Golani,

There no progress bar that can be seen via the SEPM or clients for upgrade/installation. Best way to see once installation is complete is to set an install setting that has a reboot notification. Then once the upgrade is complete on the machine it will notify that a reboot is required telling that install has been completed on the machine.

Progress cannot be traced - you can eventually check the deployment status - by going into the properties of the client in questions and there are information related if deployment was successfull or not.
