Created: 16 Feb 2010 | Updated: 18 Aug 2010 | 2 comments
When i started my backup yesterday the following message appeared:
V-79-57344-33039 - Error - Mount failed
User canceled a Physical Volume Library operation.
"Media mount failed. User canceled a Physical Volume Library operation"
"Error - Mount failed. User canceled a Physical Volume Library operation"
It also reached the maximum backup time
I believe it's event id = 57744
Kind regards,

Hello,
This error can occur when:
1. A tape is not inserted in the backup device
2. The tape cannot be loaded by the robotic arm
3. An internal or standalone drive will not accept the media
4. The tape is protected by overwrite or append periods
The "Physical Volume Library Media not found" issue could occur if in the backup job properties, "Append to media, terminate job if no appendable media is available" is specified and there is no space to append. Hence, the backup job is getting terminated.
Refer to the following technote for more information:

Hope this helps...
Its a best practice to have a "Support Contract" with Symantec...
This error can occur when:
1. A tape is not inserted in the backup device
Im pretty sure i can see the tape inside the backup device.
2. The tape cannot be loaded by the robotic arm
It work fine a week ago so no clue why that shouldn't work anymore
4. The tape is protected by overwrite or append periods
I receive errors if i run it. ''Tape is not empty'' ''Please empty the tape or format it to continue''. Or stuff like ''Tape cannot be overwritted''
3. An internal or standalone drive will not accept the media
That's what i thought also, I don't know if its my back-up device, my tape or my software. How can i check that?
Kind regards
