Back-up job not restoring even though job is successfully saved

We have a backup job that saves with no problems. However, when we try to restore the job, there is no trace of the job in the records or catalogue. The job is  a backup from a remote machine.

The only thing which is different for this job is that,  we have a save from the same remote server but to a different backup-machine.

 

To Summarise,

Server 1 : Backup to Remote server (different folder/ different time)  1 OK ; Restore, no record of save,  in order to restore.

Server 2:  Backup to Remote server 1 OK;  Restore, restore ok.

Does having the same Remote server backing up to different backup servers affect(albeit, at different times, so no conflict) the catalouges, if the Backup servers are on the same domain?

Did you try to  inventory and catalogue the tape?

Hello Donald,

I have run an inventory and catalogue on the tape and there is no record of the save, weird! Although it's says it's backed-up on the Job Monitor! My colleague has recreated the back-up on Server No 2. and there is no problem.  Is there a clash on the catalogue between the two jobs being saved from the same remote server CTU to different Back-up exec servers on the same domain?
