Thought I would include some aditional information!

The servers I am runing are NX-1950's, I am storing the data on a MD3000. All my solution suite information is as follows:

WORKSTATION LICENSES: GPL
LICENSES IN USE: 89
CONSOLE STATUS : REGISTERED FOR GPL
PROGRAM VERSION:11.5.0.2113

What I have tried so far:
I have created folders to organize my regimes, so I have close to 20 folders in regimes. These are different shops that have a certian number of systems. I have ran an inventory report to get the information of all the systems running the client. I have also organized these machine in the Machine Group just the same as the BackUp Regime section. Now I create a new backup regime, give it a name and brows for the machine, check Schedule Automatic Backups, Set a password for the domain username in the Task tab, check to ensure it says enable also in the task tab, Then move to the schedule tab and create the scheduled time for this task to run. I have then saved this backup regime.

When the time rolls around for this task, it will not start! I am wondering if there is something I have missed? Do I need to re-install the software? Is this a known issue? I have not seen any issues reported due to this anywhere in the FAQ's or o the forum.

ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS?????

Anything in the event logs?

Are the machines set for the same date/time?

If your issue has been solved, please use the "Mark as Solution" link on the most relevant thread.

nonething in the event logs

nonething in the event logs other than the manual executed taks. It is just sitting there throughout the entire time it should execute, absolutely no activity it does not even try to start the task.

Have You Tried?

Solution

Checking the box for "Run Only If Logged On" in the task tab? And then leaving your ghost console user logged in overnight with the console open?

I am running my systems on a

I am running my systems on a domain, I can use a domain admin to run the backup, I also use SCForce option in the registry that binds me to only use Smart Card to log in. This is not an issue for the regime running. If I manualy execute this regime it will run 100%. When I set it to auto start the regime task it will not even attemt to start at all. The issue has to be server side. I thought about that option, and tried it during my trouble shooting. I think there must be something in the console that is stopping the time from being seen from server 2008. Maybe next I will start looking at all the services that are needed by the console. Maybe just maybe I am not running a needed service. I don't see that though seeing as how I never get any errors from the console at all!

I Had A Similar Issue...

With scheduled shutdown tasks, right down to the manual execution working and the timed not working. The fix for me was what I suggested. I'm running my GSS install on Server 2008 as well.

I would agree that the issue has to be server side. It should not matter what time the client has, as it should take orders from the ghost server regardless.

it should not matter should

it should not matter should it, the time should be pulled from the server not the client for the backup regime? I have checked the time on all the boxes, and yes they are all set to microsoft time.

You are right, it seems that

You are right, it seems that it did indeed do the trick. This should not be the case though. I am connected through a domain??? I am wondering what is it talking about when it says "LOGGED IN"? I noticed that the user name and password is not needed now. I am running a test not to see if I can complete this task without user cradential errors.

By Logged In

It means leaving a user logged into the ghost server, and having the ghost console open (I don't know if that one is required, but you might as well leave it open).

I always leave my local administrator account on my ghost server logged in....24/7...everyday that the box is up. I use RDP to access it and the machine auto locks after 10 mins, so it hasn't been that big of a deal.

OK, I guess everything seems

OK, I guess everything seems fine. I am sure you are right. I see that the client is managed by my server name on the client side. I am sure that as long as the server is logged in it sshould not need a user account to log into the server. I was confused about that anyway. I am on a domain and every 30 days the password expires, therefor I was wondering to begin with if the password field would have to be changed on all jobs every thirty days. Now it is better this way I don't have to worry about it. I understand I leave my servers logged in but locked when I leave the room. I am sure that is what it means also.

Thank you for all your help, and suggestions. I wish the documentation would have explained this a little better. I am sure I would not have figured it out without your help though. THANKS

I AM GOING TO MARK THIS AS RESOLVED WITH YOUR HELP!!!!!
