  • 1.  Backdoor Trojan - Norton is unable to clean it up

I have a backdoor trojan in quarantine that Norton is unable to clean up.  The file is "resume[1].exe" and was delivered to me through email from a coworker.
My system has been working fine since Norton quarantined this file, but I keep getting a popup from Norton that states they do not recognize this file and can't
clean it up.  What should I do?

Make sure you have the latest definitions, then boot to safe-mode and run a full scan. If you can verify the files in quarantine are malicious/unknown, you can delete the files if you wish, or leave it there for a possible repair from a future definition. I believe those files are deleted automatically after 30 days.  FYI, you should post Norton issues in the Norton Community.
