Backing up

Hi, we have bu exec 10d windows which is backing up the server fine, we want it also to back up a Nas box, is there a way to setup the remote option within, BUexec or do we need another licence if so which one ?

Hello,

In order to backup a NAS server, you can create user defined selections. It is also recommended to create a separate job for backing up NAS.

HI I think its because we havent got remote server licence installed on the media server, because we dont get the option to view the selection to choose which directories to backup. Is this the case or am I totally wrong

Hello Mark !

You will have to create a user defined selection in backup exec to be able to select your NAS box.

Hi followed the instructions, but when I try and select the user defined path I setup it says, Access is not authorised with this edition of backup exec, it is version 10d
