Backing up to disk/folder failure??

I have a job that backups to an external hard drive, but every time it runs I get the following error message immediately when the job kicks off.

The job failed with the following error: The Backup Exec job engine system service is not responding.

I have checked the service and it is up and running. This error message only occurs on the backup to disk jobs and not the backup to tape jobs.

Any suggestions?

HI,

Have you created any removable backup to disk folder ?

To isolate the issue we would suggest you to create a new Backup-to-Disk folder and perform a backup job on this new folder.

Also ensure that :
-- The backup-to-disk folder is not offline while performing the backup job.
-- All the dependency services ( like Backup Exec Device and Media Service, Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers, Backup Exec Server, etc) are running on the media server.

Also check the related system event logs related to this error.

Thanks,
