Backing up a EMC celerra NS 40

Hello Friends,

I need your suggestion for backing up my EMC celerra SAN the model is NS 40.

I have created various CIFS shares on it .

NOw I wan tthose shares to back up?? how to do that what Agent I neeed to put on those EMC box??

Could I back up by directly attaching my tape with the EMC using FC??

Hi,

 

No agent will install on the Celerra. Simply point BE in a selection list to the Celerra as follows: \\IP_Address\ShareName and you'd be able to back it up. First you need to disable NDMP as per the TN below:

or instead of Backup up over CIFS (with an Agent for Windows license installed on the media server)

Consider investigating the NDMP Option
