Backing up Remotely
Created: 09 Feb 2012 | 3 comments
Hi I was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. I have a server that I want to backup via the internet on a daily basis. Is this something that is possiable with any backup exec products?
Thanks

At the moment there is no connection at all between the sites its just something I would like to setup but not really sure where to start.
Thanks
Hi,
What you should do is set up a VPN/link between the sites, and then back up the server using either the normal Incremental/Differential backup, or consider backing up using deduplication. The dedupe backup has the benefit of smaller backups, but you need a fairly fast line.
Alternatively, consider Backup Exec .Cloud if you are in a country where it is supported...your backups will be done to the cloud, allowing restores/backups from anywhere.
Thanks!
