Backing up Windows Servers Running EV Software

This issue has been solved. See solution.

II hope I am posting to the correct forum.

am currently tunning Enterprise Vault 9.0.4 and using a 3rd party backup to backup my Windows servers running Enterprise Vault software.

Backups are successful, but the archive links get skipped during the backup process.

Backup Software currently using; Untirends 7.0  This software allows for both file level backups and VMWare backups.  In both cases I do not see any of the archive links after a successful backup.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Scott

There are a few components that need to be included in an EV backup:
-Index Volumes
-Vault Store partitions
-SQL databases (EV Directory database and Vault Store database (s))

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "archive links"?

Yes I can elaborate some more and please understand that the EV is brand new to me so if I sound like I do not know what I am talking about...well..

This is not on the actually vault I am having a problem with. I have a Windows 2008 file server running the Symantec EV FSA agent. When a file gets archived to the vault it creates that link in the folder that it came from. So a user know that file was archived off. When I run a backup using my software product is does not backup that link. So if a user deletes a folder with those links in it I can restore what ever live file was in there but unable to restore any of the link. They would never know the file/link existed.

Thanks
Scott

It would seem that Unitrends is able to backup offline files:

Maybe your policy just doesn't have that option enabled?
