Backu job dint started when the same job is active in other policy.
Hi All,
I have 2 policies .. in one policy(1) all local drives as a backup selection for (Windows 2003 Server). in 2nd policy(2) one particular folder need to run on specific dates(schedule has been configured for specific dates i.e last saturday of every month ). On every weekend policy 1 will run full backup , while policy 1 is running the policy 2 will start on saturday morning around 5AM ,but the policy 2 was failed with 196error. could any one help in finding the exact issue..
the actual data is : Full Backup for I drive will starts on every friday , the backup selection for policy 2 is one of the folder in I drive. I drive size is 2TB so it will starts on fiday and completes on sunday.
Can we able to run backup for same drive in twoploicies?
Note :later i have set the same job when policy 1 is not running during that time.. it got completed successfully.
Please help me friends.

Check max jo per client
Using the GUI go to: Host Properties -> Master Server -> Global Attributes and check if "Maximum job per client" is set to a higer value than one.

Check storage unit attributes
Are you configured your storage unit to process multiple streams?
Check following:
* "maximum concurrent drives"(or so) of Media Manager type STU is set grater than 1.
* "maximum concurrent jobs" of other type STU is set grater than 1

2 policy on same drive
As NetBackup, you can.
But if you use VSS, you shouldn't.
I've heard from my colleague that MS said it is not supported to delete snapshot after other snapshot for same drive is created.
Also MS said Snapshot deletion like this is supported on Vista olny. This is not documented.
I'm not sure this is true, but I believe my colleague.
