backup 2 SBS servers on 2 networks to same physical drive?

We have 2 seperate SBS networks that are in the same building, that we need to backup. I'm curious as to whether or not we can backup to the same media server/physical drive. The networks are conected to their own firewalls, which are then connected to an 8 port switch that leads to their T1, so technically traffic should be able to flow at nearly 100mbps.

Let me know what would be required for this configuration, if it is possible. Thank you.

You should be able to.  From

You should be able to.  From the media server, create a BE job and see if you can select the other server, i.e., to to Network, etc.  If you can see the other server, you wil be able to back it up.  The backup will be slow because of the slow link.

Hi Matthew, Should be. But

Hi Matthew,

Should be. But you won't be able to share a SCSI backup device. To do something like this with a shared device, you'd need a SAN in place with SAN SSO running.
What you can try do is see if the second server can have BEWS agents installed on it. If so, install the agents, and run the job like that. You'll create a second job (or just have 1 selection list with both servers in the same job), and run it straight after the first.
Hope this helps...?
