Backup to disk folders job not filling WAN Line

I am using Backup Exec 11
My backup server is located in our NY office.
I have backup jobs running nightly to backup data from our remote CH office. I only have a 8 hr window and it is transfering at 74.0MB/Min is there anything in backupexec to better staturate the line? or does it get all its throughput setting from the NIC?

How fast is your VPN?
If you backup data from your New York lan, what kind of throughput do you get?
