Hi,

we have a very strange problem on a HP ML350 server with SBS2003 installed.
We are running the BE12.5 for SBS standard with the latest patches and hotfixes.

Some days ago, the backup duration changed from around 2 hours ( approx. 35GB with a DAT160 with 360MB/min) which was OK to 8-10 hours!
The setting of the schedule for the job was 10.00pm to latest 10.59pm. I had a look to the job log and the job starts at 6.30am  in the morning??

Any idea or same problem?

Regards,

Martin

Any system jobs running at

Any system jobs running at the same time in the long days?

AV Scans,  Exchange DB  maintenance, etc?

At 06:30, do you swap tapes so that scratch tapes are now mounted?

If this response answers your concern, please mark it as a "solution"

Please check any alerts

Please check any alerts during the time the job is not started. Is the library free for backup job to run at 10 PM. Are there any other backups or restores or inventory or any type of job scheduled at this time? Are you using any other software? Observe the event logs and alerts during this time, to identify the cause for the backup job stuck during this duration.
Thanks

Hi Martin, I suggest you also

Hi Martin,

I suggest you also check your backup selection order  and see if some of your servers has a problem with network interface. I had a similar problem and I changed NIC driver.
Amout of data for backup tells me that you dont have much so servers that it would take time to check each of them.
First go and chek NIC of backup server.

Marinko
