Take your time and read through NBU for Microsoft Exchange Server Administrator's Guide

Discuss restore/recovery needs with Exchange admins - this will determine what you need to back up.
If granular restore is required, check NetBackup 7 Application/Database Agent (CL)  to see if Exchange and OS combination is supported for GRT.
See list of available HOWTO videos for Exchange 2003 :
Good luck!

Like Marianne said, take a look in Admin Guide for Exchange first, and question your Exchange admin for:

  • What databases to backup?
  • You want to restore a single message?
  • restore just a database?

If you need restore just a single message, you will need some disk space to do Granular backups with GRT, if not you can do backups direct to tape.

God is the reason of my life. He bless you all.
