Hi,

We have 2 instalations of backup exec on 2 servers,

SERVER A + SERVER B, we have sql 2000 installed on SERVER A which has 2 instances for the BEDB for both servers.

SERVER A has service pack 4 installed, i cant get service pack 4 installed on SERVER B, it rolls back right at the end. If i look at the log in the bkupinst.log located at C:\WINNT it says at the end -

Unable to connect to SQL Server

this is obviously because the sql is on SERVER A, how can i get around this without installing sql on SERVER B.

Everything works fine at the moment, just a few catalog errors on SERVER B which is why im updating the backup exec to see if it will correct my problem.

Thanks
