Hi
You need to Install Backup Exec Exchange agent license on Media (Backup Exec) Server.
Install Exchange management console 32bit on media server.
Install Mapi cdo client on on Exchange server
Install Backup Exec remote agent on exchange server.

Hi
No CPS is not mandatory
Ensure you have license for Exchange installed on Media server were 11d is installed
Once done please install remote agent on exchange server
Then in backup selection you would see Information store ,please select it to backup
Additionally ensure BE 11d is on 7170 build with all updates like sp5 and other updates after it using live update
Please note to if exchange is on sp2 and above then 11d doesn't support it ,would be best to upgrade to BE 2010 r3 which support all exchange 2007 till sp3 and exchange 2010
