Backup Exec 12 - Full Server Restore

Hi

In few days I will try to upgrade MS SQL from 2000 to 2008. To prevent problems I will backup full server. If the upgrade fail and I need to restore full server how can I do this. What advices can you give me for this situation ??

BE 12 does not support SQL 2008. See the SCL below

You need to upgrade to BE 12.5 if you want to backup SQL 2008 and to BE 2010 R2 if you want to backup SQL 2008 R2

I want to upgrade SQL 2000 to SQL 2008. I need to have backup of SQL2000 instance if I have problems with upgrade - properly the biggest problem is DTS upgrade.
Do enyone this operation ??/

Hi vigorone,

PKH is correct...if you want to back up your SQL 2008 DBs after your upgrade, you won't be able to. In order to restore SQL2000, you would need BE 12.0 to do a normal restore of SQL. The BE 12.0 Admin Guide will help with that.
However, you will need to upgrade your BE to the correct version to be able to back up SQL 2008 going forward...
