Backup Exec 12.5 Connection with server failed.

This issue has been solved. See solution.
Under Job Setup then under the backup job properties then under selections I get connection with server failed. Hit F5 to retry. So I cant select or deselect items to be backed up. Has anyone seen this before?

Was the user name / password of the Backup Exec account recently changed ?
Ensure the domain name precedes the user name, i.e. in this format - domain\username
Also, do check for permissions per http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?pag...
While confirming the above permissions, ensure the account is not part of any deny permission either..
nothing was changed and all permissions and domain name is correct.
Sorry to be a stickler, though have you explicitly verified ?
If yes, try creating a new account with the appropriate priveleges/permissions & re-check..
And is the remote agent for windows service running under the local system account ?

The problem was the remote agent service wasnt running. Thanks. How did my backup job complete if that wasnt started?.....just out of curious.
