Backup Exec 12.5 Hangs when backing up the System State

Server is Windows 2003, target server is Windows 2003 with a SQL database. The backup Job just gets to the system state and then hangs, the job status is at running but the byte count remains the same and the only way to cancel the job is to restart the services.
Has anyone got any ideas on what the problem is?

Hi there,
Push the RAWS agent out to that server again, and see if this helps matters.
Don't use AOFO when backing up SQL...it tends to cause issues when redirecting a restore to another server.
If possible, can you post any errors here which would make it a bit easier to troubleshoot?
