This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi,

Media server = windows 2003 32 bit

Backup Exec version = 12.5 SP-4

Remote server OS= Windows XP pro SP 3.

I'm attempting to install backup exec remote agent on to a brand remote server [Windows XP pro].

But installation has failed. I have tried to push the remote agent from media server also i try to install it manually but still no success.

I have received below error while trying to push the remote agent from media server to remote server.

"Unsuccessful backup exec remote agents install" Error: Installation failed with error 1603.

If there is an AV running on the workstation, stop it and then try again.

This issue has resolve now....

Issue was when we ware trying to install the remote agent, that time windows installer service was getting stop automatically.

And backup exec remote agent local installation failed with error "unable to install windows installer service".

So have have perform below registry changes:

%systemroot%\System32\msiexex.exe /V

C:\windows\System32\msiexex.exe /V

Then restart the windows installer service. And Successfully install the backup exec remote agent.
