Backup Exec 12.5 for SBS scheme
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 2 comments
Hi,
Im quite green to backup software and need a hand. I need to create a backup scheme using backup to disk. I have SQL, Exchange, and some basic files needing backed up. Right now I have a full monthly and a daily incremental. There is no need to recover previous versions of files. I really just need a good disaster recovery so I dont lose current files. So, my question is.... how should I set up the backup scheme. Right now im doing a full backup once a month and a daily incremental. Also how should I set up the OPP? I have a seperate media set for the monthly and daily. The full backup is just over 100G on to a Tbyte NAS.

Guidelines for a good Backup plan
read my blog on the exact same issue: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/blogs/guidelines-good-backup-plan
specifically I would go with weekly full and daily incremental
if you need a monthly off site is nice to have
SYSTEM STATE is critical - back it up fuul daily, best practice is getting it off and on site
exchange require a special license, same story with SQL
