This issue has been solved. See solution.

I downloaded the BE 2010 trial and installed it onto a server attached to an EMC AX4-5I SAN. The server lists drives that are hosted on the SAN in explorer, but when I do a "configure devices assistant / storage array option the error I get is " there are no storage arrays to configure". Looking on the compatibility sheet there are 2 EMC units and neither of them is the AX4-5i. Is there something else to try ?

Thanks,

Jacob

 There is nothing to

There is nothing to configure for your SAN from BE.  Whatever LUN you present to Windows is all BE needs to know.

The Storage Array Option is specific to ONLY the Dell MD3000 arrays as far as I know.

If anything, carve out a large LUN for Windows, format it, and use it for the Deduplication Storage Folder.

There is an online portal, save yourself the long hold times. Create ticket online, then call in with ticket # in hand :-) http://mysupport.symantec.com "We backup data to restore, we don't backup data just to back it up."
