This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi everybody,

please help me, the backup exec 2010 job Monitor shows the most jobs "ready; Unkown" status and the backups won't start.

service collapses after starting a test run.

I have no idea why.

We used an another Machine as a CASO Server, but it has been deactivated and out-configured.

The machine works as a standalone media server now.

The processes running fine, till I start a Test Run.

Check windows event viewer for errors related to the BE services.

Event viewer shows only "Information" Messages.

Backup gives the following message:

Error category    : Job Errors
Error             : e0008821 - Job was recovered as a result of Backup Exec RPC service starting.  No user action is required.

What is the destination device, is it Disk or Tape?

Do you see any unattended alerts in the Alerts tab of BE console ?

Is BE fully patched with latest updates?

1) Before deactivating your CASO, did you detach this machine and convert it from a MMS to a stand-alone server?

2) Have you tried re-booting your media server?

1) Yes, I have detached. It's already a stand-alone server.

2) Yes, we have rebooted it. It did not helped. :(

Go to the Install/Remove programs and repair BE.

But it will remove the catalog too, won't it?

Should I then reconfigure the whole software after the repair?

No.  You are repairing the BE software.  The catalog and other configuration information will not be touched.

I made the repair and we have restarted the media server. It seems it helped. One of the jobs is running now. Many thanks for both of you for your help and especially for you pkh for the solution.
