Backup exec 2010 R2 Manuel Removal

Created: 09 Apr 2014 | 3 comments

Hi I have backup Exec 2010 R2 installed on a server running Windows 2008 I am unable to upgrade the current version or uninstall the current version

When I run the uninstall I dont even get as far as the splash screen and when I try to upgrade I get to the splash screen and then it goes away

I was hoping to do a manual removal of the product. I have searched on a few forum's and from what I have read there is a way to do this

but all the links refer to a Symantec forum artical that is no longer avaliable. I was hoping there would be some here who could help me

with this smiley

You would need to log a support case with Symantec and get an engineer to remove it for you

Hello Keith,

We no longer have a public document associated to the manual removal of Backup Exec. There had been issues in the past where in due to the registry changes associated to the removal the server crashed.

As such, I'd request you to open a case with us and we'd arrange an engineer from the Advanced Level to remove the application manually.
