Backup Exec 2010 vs VCB..needed?

Created: 29 Mar 2010 • Updated: 17 Dec 2012 | 2 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.

Am in the process of creating new Vmware hosts.  During our research we were looking at Backup Exec 12.5 in conjunction with VCB (Vmware Consolidated Backup).  We ended up purchasing Backup Exec 2010 with the Vmware infrastructure agents.

Is there any advantage to running VCB now...or does Backup Exec 2010 with the Vmware agents cover all the advantages to VCB?

Thanks

As far as I know, BE 2010 has done away with using VCB, and uses its own internal method of backing up VMs.

Hi there,

Has this helped, and if so, can you close off as a solution?
