Created: 07 Nov 2013 | 4 comments

I have a simple file server Dell PowerEdge 2950 / win2008 r2 , that houses user folders . I will attach a Dell Powervault 124T tape device for backup of folders. This is the only thing I need to backup. Can I use BE 2010 for this?  Thanks

Hi,

Yes you can. Done that no hassles.

Just make sure you're using Backup Exec 2010 R3 with Service Pack 3 and any additional patches.

Thanks!

Thank You for the reply's.  Should I use Symantec  or windows drivers for the powervault?

If the tape drive works normally in BE, it would be better to use the symantec and unknown media changer.
