I'm trying to delete old backup file that get stored on to the B2D folder from anything older than a year, How can I purge old B2D files properly, or do I just delete the files?

Move that file to scratch
Move that file to scratch media set, it will be used during next overwrite operation. OR
Erase the file and perform perform inventory.
