I have a question: on previous versions of veritas backup exec it was possible to make on a usb disk differnt backup to disk folders.
I tried to make this in the version 2012 of veritas, but i can't do it. How can i do this, or isn't this function not available.

Backup Exec 2012 limits you to one disk storage device per volume by design

Hello,

thank you for your answer.

It is possible, if I have the 2012 version to install the 2010 R3?

Can you explain why you are looking at creating more disk storages on a single USB disk?

There is no added advantage in doing that (atleast to my knowledge). Even in earlier versions retention was managed using media sets and now it is a setting while creating job itself. You can target jobs with different retention settings to a single disk storage and will be managed by BE without any problems.

Hello,

under the previous versions we have made it so, that for example every day has a own backup to disk folder.

OK - we will try to backup on one disk and see how it works

thank you
